Meet Arden! She’s a 9 year-old 4th Grader at Crofton Meadows Elementary. She wore one of our “I WILL BE YOUR FRIEND” shirts on the first day of school and she really took its message to heart! Below is a conversation her mom shared with us yesterday:
I asked my daughter Arden what she did on the playground on the first day of school.
Arden: Well first I was climbing a pole and then I saw this girl playing soccer with a teacher. I knew she was lonely.
Me: How did you know she was lonely?
Arden: Well no one plays with a teacher unless they don’t have anyone else to play with.
Me: What did you do?
Arden: Well I went over there and asked her if she wanted to play and then we played soccer together. Then we began to talk and now we are friends.
Thank you Arden for truly demonstrating what it means to be a friend! We should all try to be a bit more like Arden!

What a beautiful thought Izzy. A special heart indeed. Very proud. Gramma
