Kindness Grows Here is a small but mighty non-profit. Media outlets help us fulfill our mission by sharing our story. We are grateful to the many media outlets who have helped us tell our story and spread the word about what we do.


On July 30, 2021 the front page headline of The Capital Gazette was "Kindness Grows Here" and was filled with photos of an event we organized to spread love and kindness after an act of hate toward two local children at a playground.

We love when our "Kid Kindness Grant" winners are covered in the media. Here are a few stories of how our grants are making a difference in communities:


On May 14, 2022 The Carroll County Times spread the word about Olivia Smith who received a grant to give "Birthday Bash Bags" to kids in need.


On March 16, 2022, the online publication, Kidsburgh shared about Aaban Mahmood and his efforts to celebrate diversity at his school using one of our Kid Kindness Grants.


On October 25, 2019 WMAR Channel 2 spotlighted Penelope Chandler and her "Hunti's Hope Hunters" project to say thank you to first responders.


WBAL-TV-11 did a story on one of our local “random acts of kindness” in August of 2019. Spreading kindness in small ways can have a big impact!


In September 2018 our Founder, Kristen Caminiti was honored by the TLC Network as one of three National “Give A Little” award recipients. She and her family traveled to the star studded red carpet event in New York City.

The Capital Gazette wrote about Kindness Grows Here being the recipient of the “Project Give Good” award from Starbucks in the spring of 2018.


Kindness Grows Here originally started as a small community group called "Crofton is Kind."

Before we even became an official non-profit we were making a difference in our community. At the time we were local to Crofton, Maryland only. And when a hateful act occurred in Crofton, we partnered with some amazing folks to state clearly that hate would not be tolerated in our community.
