“One of the greatest feelings in the world is knowing that we as individuals can make a difference.”

~ Jeff Bridges, actor

Sherry has run her own bookkeeping business for over 25 years. Owning her own business has always given her the time and flexibility to volunteer, which is the essence of who she is, either at her daughter’s school while she was growing up, or helping to run a girls mentoring program in the Sandtown-Winchester area of West Baltimore City for the last 20-plus years. The program, run through the Enterprise Women’s Network, is aimed at helping girls in the 3rd to 8th grades build self-esteem, make healthy choices, and achieve personal and academic success, all while building strong and meaningful relationships. Sherry grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and attended The University of South Carolina where she received her bachelor’s degree in accounting. Since 1994 she has lived in the Baltimore area, where she raised her daughter. She currently lives in the Charles Village neighborhood of Baltimore City in a charming co-op building, built in 1915, which she serves as board president. Sherry believes in the power of books and has raised funds to run the Scholastic Book Fair at her mentoring school for over 10 years so that every student, teacher and staff member in the school can bring their “scholar dollars” to shop at the fair. Sherry loves the beach, reading, taking walks, visiting museums and exploring our beautiful country with a goal of visiting all 50 states in her lifetime (she only has a handful of states left!).

She was introduced to Kindness Grows Here by Felicity Ross, a fellow board member, and is extremely excited to begin the good work of giving others the power to help make their communities a better place!
